GBN Support Community Football
Hale End Athletic have a long history, formed in 1928, they boast four senior sides. The Vets team plays in the Essex Greene King Division Two West league, and is captained by Dave Brown, Transport & Site manager at the Leyton depot (pictured back row, third in from the right). Dave has been playing at the club for three years and is currently team captain. He has a sharp eye for goal, finishing the last two season as top goal scorer!
Dave has been working for GBN for 18 years, originally starting as a 7.5t skip driver. He’s worked his way through the necessary qualifications with the support of the business and has been Transport manager for the last four years.
“It’s brilliant having GBN associated with Hale End, the board have been overwhelmed by their support and its true testament to the GBN philosophy and support in the community. We just hope we can push on and finish at the top of the league, come the end of the season,” explains Dave.
