Case Study: BUPA 10K Run

Project summary

For the second year running, GBN Services provided the cleaning, recycling and waste management services for this annual 10km run which starts and finishes in St James’ Park. GBN ensured that Birdcage Walk, the Mall, St James and Green Park were all cleaned of waste from the event and is handed back spotless.

The Strategy

Our complete service covered the cleaning of the general public areas as well as capturing the organisers’ and sponsor’s waste from the goody bag area, canteens and marquees.

• We produced an event plan for resources, staff and activities prior to the event
• On the day provided wheeled containers for general waste and recycling
• Provided a well-trained on-site team to pick and segregate all litter quickly and effectively.
• Delivered all waste to a Materials Recovery Facility for recyclables to be recovered.

Proven Results

Held on the door step of Buckingham Palace, this prestigious event required the highest level of service. Our commitment to service excellence ensured that the site was handed back cleared and cleaned to the highest standard within the agreed timescale.
