Case Study: Event Organiser in Central London

Project summary

GBN Services worked with one of the leading corporate and private event organisers at two prestigious sites in central London in 2012. We supplied recycling and waste management services during the summer and Christmas periods to individual events including parties, conferences and award ceremonies.

The Strategy

We provided a tailored service to meet the unique needs of this customer. Prior to the start of each season:

  • Site visits
  • Comprehensive risk assessments
  • Method statements carried out
  • Containers supplied for separate collections of glass bottles and cardboard
  • General waste collections

Proven Results

Due to the nature of these one-off occasions with limited site access, the presence of the general public and short change-over periods between events, we knew it was important to get the job right first time. We delivered excellent service to our customer on all orders, emptying all containers at specific times and at short notice.

We were able to maximise recycling for our customer, whilst keeping things simple for their staff, with the on-site segregation of their high volume materials. After each event, we produced a report, showing vehicle movements, materials recycled and total waste collected.

Since then, GBN Services has won further contracts with this client for summer events in London.
