GBN starts RDF production at Uxbridge and Basildon

by Dec 17, 2014News, Waste Management

As part of our programme of continuous improvement, GBN Services has recently invested in new plant and equipment at our Uxbridge and Basildon depots including new shredders, balers and wrapping machines.

We continue to sort our customer’s waste to maximise recycling levels that can be achieved. However, as part of our drive to fully divert all waste from landfill we are now shredding and baling the residual waste from the sorting process to produce Refuse Derived Fuel(RDF), which is wrapped securely in 1000kg bales and exported to Europe to generate energy.

Garry Hobson Managing Director at GBN said “This is a very exciting time for GBN’s development and with this recent investment we can continue to divert waste from Landfill with the ultimate aim of achieving zero waste to Landfill”.
